Stadager Art

Frederik Stadager Larsen is a Danish artist adopted from India. From his small studio in Frederiksberg, he creates socially critical works that point out contemporary biases.
Frederik's biological parentage and adoption play a role in the thought process behind each work:

"A roll of the dice from having nothing puts things into perspective. We are so privileged in our part of the world that it is only when we lose we realize what we had. I try to highlight inequalities, beauties and the in-between through my stories, precisely to focus on it before it's too late".

The art

Frederik's style is characterized by prominent color combinations in realistic and surrealistic compositions, where one motif or one single object is dominant.

Every painting starts with a core - a story. Therefore, Frederik travels the world to meet people, cultures and observering nature as inspiration for the stories. In the past few years, the trips have brought him to the coasts of Greenland, under the setting sun of the Galapagos Islands, the impassable Svalbard and all the way to the top of Africa on Kilimanjaro to the vast savannahs of Tanzania.

2023 offers more trips, where Frederik wants to contribute through art to projects that focus on nature and wildlife. Next stop is Borneo, where Frederik will document the challenges that wildlife faces with an increasing loss of habitat.  You protect what you love. And therefore each work is a tribute and a reminder to take care of our world.
